The two organizations that support our movement are Generation Vote Education Fund, a 501(c)(3) fiscally-sponsored organization of the Watershed Center (EIN:36-4624060), and Generation Vote Action, a 501 (c)(4) political and advocacy nonprofit.
Generation Vote Education Fund supports our movement’s work to educate the public about electoral justice issues and youth voting rights, provide robust educational training programs and leadership-development support to our GenVote Teams/Hubs, spearhead national nonpartisan youth election protection, and build partnerships with organizations to address our generation’s democratic crisis.
Please note that Generation Vote Education Fund is currently fiscally sponsored by The Watershed Center, an independent 501(c)(3) organization. Donations intended for Generation Vote Education Fund are processed through The Watershed Center and then re-granted to Generation Vote Education Fund.
Generation Vote Action drives campaigns across the Generation Vote movement to educate young people about voting, community organizing, and mobilizing skills in order to achieve legislative and electoral victories that stop youth voter suppression, increase participation of young people in the democratic process and promote democracy reforms in the United States on the local, state and federal level. GenVote Action is organized to support our movement’s communications, leadership development programs, lobbying efforts and candidate endorsements (consistent with limitations on its activities as a 510c4 organization).
Gifts made to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit are tax-deductible, whereas 501(c)(4) gifts are not.
